The 2007 Awahila Summer Fun Camp was a huge success! A big 'Thank You' to our many Adult and Teen Volunteers, Visitors, Guests and Site Sponsors. We couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. The Girls had fun earning their Badges and Try-Its as well as the Juniors earning their Junior Aide Badge. Also, e veryone, should have gone home with a 50th Anniversary Moccasin Bend Girls Scout Council Patch. This will be a collector's item and will be very hard to come by in the very near future.

Every year we choose a Community Service Project for Camp. This year, we selected the Chattanooga Area Food Bank as ours. The Girls really enjoyed bringing items and the Camp as a whole was able to donate 723 lbs. of Food/Products plus $50 from the Brownie 'Tag Sale'. (Rebecca Smith told us that $50 will purchase enough cereal to fill 1/3 of a tractor trailer). Great job Girls! We also received a nice card from them thanking us for the generous donations.

We hope your Girls had as much fun as we did! We look forward to seeing all of you again next year. Be sure to tell your friends how much fun you had!
I was told by Camp Volunteers (imaginge....... me doing something I'm told to do) that I had to put this picture up on the website whether I wanted to or not. So, here it is. Don't know how we didn't end up getting pictures of the final designs, but trust me when I say they were beeeaaaauuutiful!!!
Since, my trade profession for the last 12 years has been in floral design, I was able to share my design experience with the Juniors in order to assist them in completing their 'Art in the Home' badge requirements. They were a very attentive audience and asked some really good questions. I saw impressive results of gorgeous centerpieces as well creative Fall Harvest wreaths. Beautifully designed Girls!! Thanks for allowing me to teach you something 'NEW'!
